Some very beautiful stadium projects are getting built or proposed in Iraq right now. Here's another stunner in Najaf that's been proposed to open in 2013.

will any team play here? would be awesome if one day Iraq were to host the world cup.. unfortunetly that'll probably be some time ..

No, the city was supposed to host the Gulf Cup(a regional tournament) in 2013, but they cancelled it. So it will probably be the new home of the Iraqi national football team.

Guys, I'm confused about the new stadium's capacity.

This news clearly says that Dutch manufacturer will deliver 80,000 seats for the gorund, while official capacity stands at 65,000. By the size I could believe it's larger than 65, but maybe it's 65,000 + 25,000 for the smaller ground being built in the city? If anyone knows, would be great to clarify.

Anyway, a bit of a shame it will be bucket seats...
