The runways of the airport are between T1 and the new T2. Ho do they connect T1 and T2?

Currently there is a shuttle bus between the two terminal, but in the near future T1 will retire from mainstream commercial service, become a general aviation, charter, private, and government terminal.

A popular local low cost airlines, Spring Airlines is seated in T1 which makes most of the T1 traffic. I guess T1 will become a low-cost terminal in the future.

finally the English version of the Discovery Channel documentary about this traffic hub is available. it is very informative since it focuses on the construction phase.

I love the roof and overall design of the new PVG terminal, but I can't help but think it seems very dark for some reason, and this is for most of the photos shown. Is this the case in person?

yup. It's pretty dark when you are there in person. I think it is because of the dark colours that they used in the terminal.

Pudong Airport is Huge!

It seems to me like they're planning to have massive reclamation works to make space for the 5th runway.

Btw, is there a bigger version of this map?

Well,I think this drawing is right:

The fifth runway will not stretch into the sea
Sorry I don't have a larger map,I think this could be large enough to know the general future planning, the details may change.
Not long before,It is said that there will be a new Terminal even larger than PEK T3,this is a change to the original plan and it's not in the drawing.
