No good reason for not pushing forward with it other than a pronounced lack of interest. I don't think a comprehensive master plan or a funding strategy are in place for Phase II, which should ideally be coordinated with other major development initiatives such as the MRTS system, development of the IT Corridor and the Vizhinjam project.

The Road Fund Board is probably busy copying TCRIP for the other cities to consider extending the successful prototype further.

With 9 MLAs of ruling party from Tvm district + ministers present in this city, it is nothing but shame on the whole state. TCRIP continuation to Phase II etc. along with ring roads is the only recommended way out of existing traffic congestion and to handle future traffic growth for Tvm.. Torpedoing this critical expansion of TCRIP is going to hurt Tvm economic growth in near future as the city corporation has now expanded to 100 wards and TRIDA area officially close to 300sq.km!! Does GoK really think that only 42km of roads developed under TCRIP for a 300sq.km. capital city zone is sufficient to handle the city's future traffic growth?

- The gist of the article is that a surprise inspection by staff of another department found the offices of the team deputed to complete the land acquisition for the 4-laning of the Karamana-Kaliyikkavila road completely deserted!

So much for fast-track work!
