Thanks Minsk! I'm impressed by Kayson's expansion and designs, they're doing well these days.

Thanks Minsk, actually what you showed here of Belarus reminds me of the good time I have spent with my nice slavic friends in Russia. I wish the bests for Belarus (White Russia) and all other slavic countries.

CK Designworks presents regeneration plans for Minsk Central Business District

Melbourne international architecture and planning firm CK Designworks has designed a major upgrade to the Central Business District of the city of Minsk in Belarus. When constructed the $US1.2bn project will provide 360,000 sq m of commercial, retail and residential development space in the centre of the country’s capital city of approximately 10 million people.

The new development would include 87,000 sq m of office space in two iconic 50-storey towers with a revolving restaurant on the 45th level. More than 100,000 sq m of retail shopping would extend across a pedestrian bridge linking the commercial and residential sectors. The design also includes a major transport hub linking the existing road network with a subway station.

Janusz Kowal, Director of CK Designworks said: “This is a tremendous opportunity for Belarus. A substantial development like this in their capital city would attract major international investment in the retail, commercial and residential sector. CK Designworks was asked on behalf of a key development company to prepare the designs for the city to totally redevelop two key city sites and it was recently presented to the Federal Government of Belarus and municipal authorities in the city of Minsk.

“There is also a sector within the development area that would preserve the old village lifestyle which remarkably survived the Second World War,” Mr Kowal said. The Minsk development is one of the latest iconic projects designed by the firm with other major projects in UAE, Iran, Azerbaijan, China, and Vietnam as well as a number of significant building projects in Australia.

Real plans for the future

Iran is implementing investment projects worth about $1.5bn in Belarus, noted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus, H.E. Mr. Seyyed Abdollah Hosseini, at a press conference in Minsk. He added that, apart from the agreed investment plans, Belarus and Iran are negotiating on other joint projects, estimated at over $1bn. This shows Iran’s huge interest in the development of investment ties with Belarus

By Galina Grishkovets

The project to construct the Magnit-Minsk complex by Iran’s Kayson company (worth about 250m Euros) is proceeding well. It will occupy about 180,000 square metres near the National Library. Other major projects run by Kayson include the construction of Prilesie Transport and Logistics Centre in the Minsk free economic zone.

Iran’s Persepolis Invest plans to build a five-star hotel in the Belarusian capital, worth $150m, while Iran’s Didaks is to implement investment projects in Brest, Gomel and Svetlogorsk. According to the Ambassador, other promising investment projects include the construction of a tourist-hotel complex near Zaslavl reservoir. The Iranians are to inject about $1.5bn in its 15 mini-projects. Additionally, Iranian businessmen plan to set up the production of metal wire in Rechitsa and construct a cement plant in the Gomel Region. Iranian Samand cars are already being assembled in the Minsk District.

Nice projects but I am astound as to how Iran is investing in Belarus when Iran itself needs the improvements, unless these investment are from private sector.

All the best for the guys in Belarus tho :-)
