I have met someone in the CBI, and he told me, they might add AMMO's picture on the currency.

Adding on currency? Ok thats going a bit too far. I could imagine having an picture of one the imams just to piss everyone else off Lol. Going back to being serious, I think we should stick to symbols and images of the countries identity and not of people.

well, they will add Poets, artists, scientists and historical figures. No political or sectarian things. They are not going to add the Imams or Sada or previous leaders.
It is very natural for every nation to be proud of its men and women who brought pride to it's name. And yea, according to the guy, the list include mostly poets, Nazik Almalaika, Badr Shakir, ALjawahiri, Mutanabi and other figures. The person on one face and an image form Iraq on the opposite face of the currency. I think I support it. |

I think everyone is exaggerating with amo baba. Yes he is a great figure in iraqi football, but it's not like he got us the world cup or anything. And putting images of the imams was just a joke. we dont know how they truly looked like... The currency will be handled by people from all over the globe so it's important for it to have the right symbols. I guess images that represent Iraqs history from different era's (babylonian, Sumerian, Assyrian and Islamic...etc) would be more appropriate.
