Is there any source of the data you can share? I was looking for a national ranking for the year of 2010.

Shanghai Pudong and Guangzhou will probably be in the top 10 of the world's busiest airports in a few years time. And Beijing will probably be number 1 by then.

Could you give the growth for Pudong and Hongqiao separately?

Hongqiao

Wonder what the passenger numbers for Hongqiao shall be in 2011.

Observe that high speed lines Nanjing-Shanghai and Hangzhou-Shanghai go to Hongqiao, and so shall Beijing-Shanghai. Pudong is hard to reach; and even if the Transrapid extension to Hongqiao or Hangzhou does get started in 2011, it would not open beyond Longyang Road in 2011.

Data of Qingdao and Dalian airports should be over 10 million for 2010, so there are 16 mainland airports with 10 million+ passengers.

I can't believe PEK has over 70 millions, unlike PVG, PEK isnt even a financial hub.

The Beijing figure is quite disappointing since it was expected to top 74-75 million this year. Are you sure your figures are final?

The second tier cities have quite a lot of room to go. Given the big populations, Chongqing and Wuhan are quite under-utilized!

I'm sure once the new Kumming Airport is ready to operate the traffic will skyrocket.
