Films that you thought were brilliant years ago but when you watch them now they are total pants

Four Weddings and a Funeral

I thought it was one of the funniest, cleverest movies I had ever seen when it first came out. A cutting look at middle class England and upper class toffs with a genius performance from Hugh Grant and an amazing performance from the lovely Andie Macdowell.

I watched it yesterday and thought Hugh Grant was an annoying prick, Andie Macdowell a wholly unattractive weird annoying cow, the scrip astonishly crap and the acting atrocious.

Worst film ever.

Every single film made (and set) in the 1980s was utter shit. It took me until about 1997 to realise this.

I imagine you'll one day show them to your children and go "RIGHT, this is how proper films were made in the olden days" and they'll be like "Dad, this is shit" and you'll defend them to your kids but in your heart you'll agree with them.

And the worst thing is you'll realise that your parents were right when they told you the 70s was the golden age of Hollywood.

No, I'm not going to provide some 'examples' for the benefit of people who can't think of a film from the 1980s. This isn't a scientific journal where I need to back up each point I make with carefully-sourced references and stick a bibliography at the end of each post. This is a mong board which exists as an outlet for my bile and ill-considered prejudices - if I wanted to do something resembling actual work I'd do that rather than come on here.

I can still watch it again for Top Gear muse the wonderful Kristin Scott Thomas.

I only put examples in the post, because of your loss of the word opinion or view in your post.

Yes, but you always go through the same boring way of posting, it was exactly the same way of posting when you decided want was a sport and what wasn't a sport regarding the Olympics. If you are going to post like this all the time at least inject some humour into it,

Only because it looks like a 70s film.

But yes, you have a point.

No because it is like watching a particularly crap episode of The Muppets.
Unless of course that just how it seems second time around. When you watch it the first time it is super massively awsome.

In summary I recommend watching it once but not twice.
