Amazing, how long did you spend to make all these details?

This is simply amazing!!! and this is what the city needs more.. little buildings.. little high-rises! that are not only greatly detailed, but indeed in a different design than mostly glass buildings!!

I'm looking forward to see more of this...

yup... about that.... I don't think we've got many renders for the entire city... it is just so big in size!

If the city is so truly dead, I think we should actually do something about it. It is better to have something going on rather than have nothing, at this point.

I don't see why your idea failed to pick up, it was a good idea in general, I think it was the time limitations and height as well, I think we should start it again, yet have no limitations, same idea though.

Truly kept me sad to think that this city died.

I think it's not dead. Only on hold.. or so... I would really like to see this coming to life again

Yes, I don't think its dead either, but think about this: what incentive do people have to construct their projects and introduce them into a "community city" if they're not going to have renders of their projects with other projects in the city?

Oh yes, I definitely picked up some good lessons from my Idea, which, if I put some effort into (and made some corrections to the current rules) would probably flourish again.

Some of these lessons are:

-Giving freedom for users to set streets and roadways at their will gives the city an organic shape and look, and makes for interesting visual compositions.

-Setting height limits to buildings in a historic area is fine, and works to preserve the character of the area.

-Intending to force people to build "organically" (as I did) by making them build a first floor structure that would later have a second-story addition, completely reduces any incentive and creativity users might have had towards the project.

-The use of textures is a great asset, as it allows users to build realistic structures and consequently cities that are much smaller in total file size, and therefore, easier to share, and to render.

-Also, setting the rule that states users can only build one building (structure) at a time is a good way to exploit every space with quality buildings. This rule also incentivizes users to send single-building projcets that can take much less time to build than an entire block. We already talked about how forcing people to build in blocks can be harmful, as you would be forced to build an entire area, regardless of whether you only want to do one structure or not.

Generally speaking, the less and simpler the rules, the better. Only those rules which would help protect the character of the city, while allowing users creativity and incentive to build should be adopted. Also, the use of textures and the introduction of limits on file size are critical so that the project can at least be rendered.

I think they vary widely. Also, you could measure them roughly with sketchup's measure tool.
