Apparently the sales of these apartments on the outskirts of the city were initially very slow, but has picked up in recent years. Google Earth satellite imagery also reveals a large increase in cars parked at these apartment blocks.

What the portuguese newspapers say is that those building and sattelites towns around Luanda are mostly ghost towns, because in Luanda the middle class is small, but the bottom class (the majority of the people) can`t afford those houses.
