Yes! In fact, that latest Southeast Doppler Radar map I posted is after the cutoff time for submitting preciptation totals for the latest U.S. Drought Monitor I posted, so you won't see the results of that particular radar map until next week.

I heard someone mentioned earlier today that the state should be renamed "Snowklahoma".

Looks like some nice weather in store this week for the South with above average temps and very little precipitation.

According to local reports here in N.E. Florida, we are at a surplus for rainfall for the year so far at roughly 10 inches. The normal rainfall amount for the area at this time of the year is about 5 inches. There is quite a bit of standing water around parts of the Jax metro, especially in poor drainage areas and even along major thoroughfares like I-10 and I-295. I sure hope ole Punxsutawney Phil's prediction for an early Spring is right on because this past Winter has been a real doozy!!

Same out here in NM: -35 in Angel Fire the other night, 80 degrees in Roswell today! We are in an extreme cycle, I'm afraid...

A lot of unusual weather patterns going on around the globe. I wonder if the recent volcano eruptions had anything to do with it. Enjoy the warm weather for the next week to week and a half. Greenland block is going to return and the eastern half of the nation will dive back into the arctic plunge once again heading into March if the jet stream projections prove to be correct.

Ugh, that nasty cold snap took out a lot of palm trees and other semi-tropical foliage down here.
El Paso looks like a sea of brown, sagging dead palms!![]() The drought looks like it's eased a bit but the areas of drought are spreading! Time to do another rain dance...

Man this weather has been awesome lately, especially with temps here in Jax about 10 degrees above normal. There is pollen already in the air and my lawn is starting to come out of dormancy, which is about a month too soon.

I am willing to bet this drought going on in the south central/southeastern states is going to intensify the heat this summer. Dry grounds absorbs heat faster and if this holds true, should be a brutal summer for the south. Better make plans to them beaches you got

La Nina keeps worsening the drought.
Expect a big increase from Arizona to Oklahoma and maybe some relief in the South...
