These are some fine looking tram systems indeed.

PS: I can't help myself but after looking at these city pictures, I can't imagine how anyone from there could have a big culture shock at all when relocating to eg Marseille, at least in terms of the city look and feel.

The realization of Ouargla tram assigned to two groups for Spanish and French over 420 million dollar

The realization of Ouargla tram is entrusted to groups Rover Alcia Spanish / Assignia Elecnor and French Alstom to more than 32 billion dinars (over 420 million), announced this Monday, May 20, the company of the subway Algiers (EMA).

The Spanish consortium won the construction of infrastructure and buildings for nearly 23.85 billion dinars (over 310 million) and Alstom will handle the party system (catenary) to more than 8.3 billion dinars (nearly 110 million).
The deadline for completion of the tram is set at 37 months from the final contract award by the Committee on specialized markets. This is the fourth tram which will be equipped by Alstom, after those of Algiers, Constantine and Oran.
The French group is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Algerian projects to build trams.
The government has decided to invest more than six billion dollars for the realization of 14 trams in big cities, as part of its policy of modernization of the public transport network.
Part of the Algiers tramway is already functional and the Oran (West) has been put into service. The tram Constantine (East) is under construction. Trams will be made ​​Setif, Sidi Bel Abbes, Annaba, Bejaia, Mostaganem, and Batna Bechar.

The Constantine tramway will begin commercial operation on 5 July. With ten stops and a line 8.1 km long, the tramway will considerably facilitate travelling in Constantine, Algeria’s third largest city with a population of nearly 900,000. The line will ultimately be used by some 70,000 passengers per day.

A CEREMONY was held in Setif, Algeria, on May 8 to mark the official start of construction on the city's light rail network.

The first phase comprises two lines, one running 15.5km from the city centre to serve the eastern suburbs and the other running 7.2km south from the city centre to Ain Trick. The network will have 30 stations, seven with park-and-ride facilities, and peak services will operate at four-minute headways.

A joint venture of Alstom and Turkish construction company Yapi Merkezi was awarded a €380m contract last year to build the first phase, which is due to be completed in 2017
