WORLI | Twisting Horizons | 267 m | ~70 fl | Proposed

WORLI | Twisting Horizons | 267m | ~70 fl | Proposed

Current Status: [Aug, 2011] Proposed for Shree Naman Group, pending approval.

Designed by 'cybertecture' architect James Law, Shree Naman Group's Twisting Horizons is a yet-to-be-launched residential tower in Worli, Mumbai.

Not a whole lot has been released about this tower, but its size, location and striking design will mean it will dominate any view towards the burgeoning Worli skyline.

Usually I don't like starting threads on towers with so little information, but it seems that this project is well underway and will be a Mumbai landmark by virtue of where it will sit.

Can anyone local try to get some site pics?

Cheers,
Jai

The previous design, also by James Law, is shorter but has more details about it released

Quote:
Location: India
District: Mumbai, Worli
Use: Residential
Site Area: ~2580 sq.m.
Gross Floor Area: ~7590 sq.m.
Floor Space Index: 3
Bldg. Scale: Stories above Ground : 26 Levels
Structure: Reinforced Concrete Structure
Max. Height: ~250m
Parking Lot: ~77 Lots
Exterior Finish: Curtain Wall and Aluminium Cladding

The Twisting Horizon is a residential skyscraper in Mumbai, India. The tower reaches a height of 242 meters with 21 duplex units.

The site provides a perfect sea view in Mumbai Worli, twisting can gain more sea view for the inhabitant; also create a uniqueness sea view for each unit. As the site boundary is tight and try to explode the typical stacking system, try to use a dynamic way to solve the problems, creating a future living systems and experience. The topmost storey is twisted 280 degrees counterclockwise in respect to the ground floor. This typology makes the building look like a stack of houses which brings a new era of design in residential building. Furthermore, the form of twisting also brings the rhythm of the sea waves to energize the inhabitant’s life.

The building form is generated with a series of modules with different sizes. The largest volume at the bottom is designed as the luxury entrance lobby and the high quality club house. Above that, the apartment modules are twisting up around the core with 4 degree each which can create a unique sea view for the inhabitant to choose. As of the full duplex configuration, each unit will have a spacious double height living room and private garden which allows the inhabitant to plant their favourite vegetation. With the introduction of the infinity pool, the horizon of seascape is brought to the apartment and seamlessly merged together. The nature is no longer dividable. It is the most unique apartment design in Mumbai.

From the renders, it looks like it's coming up right on the Worli Seaface between Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Marg and Dr RG Thadani Marg -

Nice, right in front of venus apartments, dwarfing their view and adding another great piece to the skyline!

According to me this structure is not coming on the bhoot bangla. Bhoot bangla is an enemy property which cannot be developed. According to me this structure is coming up in worli, on the corner of Dr RG Thadani Marg and Sir Pochkhanwala Marg.

The Custodian of Enemy Property for India is an Indian government department that is empowered to appropriate property in India owned by Pakistani nationals.

the render certainly places it at bhoot bangla

maybe the present owner is not pakistani. maybe the heir is a national of another country and has managed to get it released from the custodian

will this structure withstand monsoon winds and be structually stable? This project does not seem to be feasible due to its desgin. can i have more info on this. the design seems like some chile drawing in 3d. Nice approach would love to see it get built but might go under redesign or get canceled.

India101... thanks! It's certainly a beaut. Much more feminine and shapely than the 'female' Shreepati Skies:

The LED lighting will make for awesome effect reflected against the water. BTW What were the source of your images?
