3 orders booked last week:
- EasyJet: 27 a320ceo (EasyJet firmed up its remaining options for the a320ceo)
- Swiss: 15 a320neo (+ a commitment for 10 more)
- GermanWings: 10 a320ceo

Quote:
Airbus has received additional orders for more than 50 of its family of A320 aircraft.

Low-cost airline, easyJet has placed an order for 27 additional current engine option A320s, bringing its combined total order for the type to 315.

With an all-Airbus fleet, easyJet currently operates some 225 A320 family aircraft and placed an order in June 2013 for 100 A320neos. Combined with this order, easyJet now has 415 total orders across all member of the A320 family.

It’s chief executive, Carolyn McCall, commented: “We are bringing new aircraft into the fleet as we continue to see a significant number of new profitable opportunities in our core markets in the near term and in order to maintain our cost advantage.”

Lufthansa Group is expanding the A320 fleet of its subsidiary, Swiss International Air Lines with a firm order for 12 A320neo aircraft. Lufthansa declared that the fuel-efficient NEO-fleet would “gradually renew and replace Swiss’ existing A320 fleet.”

Executive VP of Lufthansa Group’s fleet management, Nico Buchholz, said: “Our decision to go with the cleanest, the most reliable and the most efficient belongs to the image of Switzerland, therefore the A320neo was a natural fit with our modernisation strategy.”

The group also announced the purchase of a further A320ceo aircraft for another of its subsidiaries, Eurowings. Lufthansa noted how the new aircraft would become the “backbone of its new low-cost business model” announced in July 2014, which foresaw Eurowings operations on direct connections within Europe.

The Lufthansa Group is presently Airbus’ biggest airline group operator, with more than 400 Airbus aircraft in operation, and is also Airbus’ largest airline customer with almost 600 aircraft purchased, including these new orders.

D-AUBA will be the second A320neo prototype and first to be built in Hamburg. FYI

I don't think think other airlines with A320 orders will be happy if Airbus assigns 1/3 of their remaining delivery slots this year to American Airlines.

It's this years total deliveries to American Airlines including the deliveries to US Airways. They already took delivery of 35 this year (according to Airfleets.net), going to 43 will mean that the deliveries will actually slow down a bit in the last couple of months.

Speaking of livery revisions, here's a revision for one of the United States' leading low-cost carriers, Frontier Airlines...

Frontier Airlines A320-200 (reg. N227FR)

Spring Airlines to become the first customer for Sharklet retrofit in China

Spring Airlines, a low-cost carrier based in Shanghai, China, has signed an agreement with Airbus for Sharklet retrofit of its A320 aircraft in operation to become the first Chinese airline to perform retrofit of the latest fuel saving device.

Thanks to this aerodynamic upgrade, Spring Airlines’ retrofitted aircraft will benefit from a reduction in fuel costs by up to 4 per cent, an annual 900t reduction in CO2 emissions, an increased mission range by up to 100 nautical miles and improved performances at high elevation airports.

Spring Airlines took delivery of its first A320 with Sharklets in September 2013. Since then the operator has been evaluating the effect of Sharklets on the operational performance of its fleet of six Sharklet-equipped A320s. Based on the proven operational advantage observed from more than 8500 accumulated flight hours, Spring Airlines has decided to select Sharklets for all its new deliveries and now has decided to expand the option to its in-service fleet.

Seems like the end-of-production slots will be sold out soon. A huge commitment from China for 70 a320/a321ceo was announced today.
Quote:
Airbus Wins Chinese Order Valued at $7 Billion for A320 Aircraft

Airbus secured an agreement from China for 70 A320 single-aisle family airliners valued at $7 billion, helping expand in a country that is set to displace the U.S. as the world’s biggest aircraft market in two decades.

The so-called general-term agreement is for a mix of A320 and bigger A321s with existing engines, Airbus Chief Executive Officer Fabrice Bregier told reporters in Berlin today. The company also signed an agreement for an aircraft finishing center in China that will fit out A330 wide-body airliners. The A320s will be delivered starting in 2016, Bregier said.

In less than a decade, Airbus has doubled its market share in China to almost 50 percent, helped by a final assembly line in the country that has contributed to the output of A320s, Airbus’s best-selling airliner. Bregier said demand in China remains unbroken, even as some customers in other parts of Asia have been unable to accommodate all their orders...
