A not statement by both P&W and Airbus to Bloomberg on that P&W engine issue today did not do Airbus stock price any good but it was a pretty bad day on European stock markets anyway.

Bloomberg finally noticed the first A321 had Leap engines too.

Who can spot the Airbus F*Kup

These are the only 2 production A320neo aircraft ( apart from prototypes) with engines attached so far. Can anybody spot the F*Kup here???

The first A321neo carried out its second flight ( another long one) yesterday. It flew to Toulouse.

If they keep racking up these 5 hour a day stints then certification will be smooth.

Why'd any airline choose the LEAP engine over the GTF? Lower price? Less risk because GTF is a new design?

Risk mainly. Far as I know at most half of all A320neo orders have also chosen a Leap or a GTF and the other half have not made an engine choice yet while they see how things play out.

Oddly enough once the P&W works reliably it will probably find its perfect niche in Europe more than in its home town in America. Here is why!

A321 NEO first test aircraft had a tailstrike. It was ferried back to TLS unpressurised, suggesting it will need a new patch of skin, a new stringer section or two along with a doubler plate. Lets hope she didn't whack a frame as well.

It was based in TLS since it flew there a few days back. Do you mean ferried back to Hamburg???

EDIT . It happened in Perpignan during touch and go manoevres. Photo of bloke looking at it here.

Won't need a frame, will need a tweak to the Fly by Wire software.

Let me try!

D-AINB has "first to fly A320neo - Less noise, less fuel, less CO2" written on its fuselage when its the 2nd A320neo but it should be on the first one D-AINA?

Exactly, the second one 'claims' to be the first one...which leads me to think that D-AINA is going back to Hamburg for 'newer' engines when D-AINB is delivered soon complete I would hope with the promised Feb Hardware and Software upgrades from P&W.

D-AINA is steadily doing 4 sectors a day from its base in Frankfurt, hardly ambitious that when the sectors are so short. I expect at least 6 sectors a day from D-AINB
