Asiana Is Asia’s Best Airline

Quote:
Asiana Airlines (OZ) has been selected as the "Best Airline in Asia" at the 2012 Skytrax World Airline Awards held recently in Farnborough, England. Asiana placed second in the overall ranking for the Airline of the Year award, but was also awarded Best Economy Airline Seat.

Asiana was recognized for high quality services such as onboard crew chef and sommelier service, inflight magic show and makeup event, as well as cutting-edge cabin facilities exemplified by its next-generation business class 'OZ Quadra Smartium'. The spacious seating facility allows the business class passenger to lie fully flat, and provides direct access to the aisle.

Could someone rename this thread into ATH/SKG/HER | Greek airports. And probably merge this with it.

And if its ok i shall open a new thread for Greek carriers (A3*/A2/OA | Greece-Based Carriers).

For those based in the States, a quite informative article..

Cures for air travel's 7 biggest headaches
By Chris Gray Faust | Bankrate.com – Mon, Oct 8, 2012.

Quote:
Packed planes, endless security lines, baggage fees: There's no question that air travel today seems much more unpleasant than it used to be. And when your problems with the airlines escalate from mere annoyances to major aggravation, it can be hard to know exactly what your rights are.

Luckily, things have been getting better for consumers who encounter hassles such as tarmac delays, overbooked flights and lost bags. The U.S. Department of Transportation, or DOT, strengthened what's known as the "Passenger Bill of Rights" in August 2011, buoyed mostly by outrage over horror stories of customers trapped on runways for hours.

But air travel can still be troublesome. So get on board as we examine the most frequent problems for fliers -- and provide some tips on the best ways to handle them.

You arrive, but your luggage doesn't...

Stuck on the tarmac...

Your connecting flight leaves without you...

Going nowhere fast...

Your seat doesn't sit well with you...

The bumping grind...

Anger needing management...

Buballoo, I think you may need to add CNF (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) to your list this year, the airport's traffic this year will be around 11 million.

What do you think about a list for the cities, for example, NYC (JFK, LGA, EWR), SP (GRU, CGH, VCP), etc ??

yes you are right, i will add it, this year it will have probably 11 200 000 passengers with 18% of growth.
And the cities? well position of London and New York seems untouched, NYC will maybe surprass its historical maximum which was in perion 2007-04/2008-03 - 109 864 035 passenegrs, now in 2011-08/2012-07 it was 108 365 201 passengers.

At the 3rd place will be Tokyo, pushing Atlanta at 4th place

Sao Paulo will be touching 60 mil. passengers border.

Well, its hard to say, because i dont have monthly statistics for some airports. i make prediction out of that. here is at least something. Red marked airports are not included in prediction, but there are included in year 2011.
* means number of months (from these is made prediction)
