Gorgeous. Very clever makeover, eye-catching design. What are the roof panels made from.

The roof is looking nice. Question how do people in Belgium feel about a possible Belgium Dutch competition?

It's a complicated issue. The big clubs would concider to move to a BeNe-liga.
The competition now in Belgium is a big mess.

We have now a competition with 16 team, that play 30 matches, after the 30 matches the pionts of each team are being halfed. The teams from 1-6 play-offs for the championship and european tickets. The teams from 7 to 14 play a play-off system for place 7, because the team that ends on 7th place play against the team of 6th place for a european ticket. Team that ends after 30 matches on place 15 plays the play offs with 3 teams of the second division. The team that ends on place 16 after 30 matches relegateds to the second division.

Now there is a proposal to end this system and :
a) back to 18 teams without play offs
b) to 18 teams with play offs
c) 16 teams without play offs
d) keep it this way

so in other words, even a team that ends 14 can play in the Europa and the 2nd not, isn't it a beatiful competition

18 teams with no playoffs, although a Benelux league makes so much sense on so many levels.

There are a number of European states that need to consider merging their football competitions. I would love to see Belgium-Netherlands, some form of Scandinavian merger, and a Balkan merger. And yes, I understand that at this point feasibility is low.

Yes, this is obvious to anyone who cares about making European club football more competitive.

Because it is the only way that clubs from medium and smaller European states can compete with the big countries. Currently, clubs like Ajax, Celtic, etc cannot hope to do so because their income is much smaller as they are in a small-TV market. As result, the CL, and increasingly the EL, is dominated by the Big 4 leagues. Russia or Turkey could in 15 years or so potentially compete, but that's it. It would also act as a bulwark against a possible European Super League, by pacifying the clubs from smaller leagues.

I'm already sick of seeing the same old clubs from the same leagues get to the latter rounds of European competition.

The Koning Boudewijn Stadium is NOT an option !
Because of the running tracks, or?

Well, I've always been quite fascinated with Constant Vanden Stock Stadium (and Anderlecht in general), so it's nice to see some cool expansion plans. In a funny way, the exterior seems like some kind of a merger between Bird's Nest and Mayday – erhm, sort of, right...

Anyways, I hope they'll stick with the name.

Not too good news:
http://www.anderlecht-online.be/arti...13534&lang=eng

Quote:
Many complaints against stadium enlargement
The inhabitants of Anderlecht filed a few thousand complaints against the enlargement of the Anderlecht stadium. The club hopes to enlarge the stadium from roughly 25.000 seats to 33.000 seats.

Further, a renovation of the existing seats is also planned. Anderlecht want to increase their budget with at least 50% with these actions.

But according to the neighbourhood, the biggest problem is the 8 floor parking garage next to the stadium. The people fear huge traffic problems in the densely populated area.

All the complaints will now be examined and checked if they are valid. The municipality council expects not all complaints to be valid. The other ones, will be taken into account while conducting the obligated environmental study.

This means the final permit for the construction of the stadium will again be delayed...

32.000 ?

It's very likely that they will raise the capacity a bit. Recently both club chairmen and the press are always talking about an expansion to 32.000.

32.000

Recently there are some strong rumours going on that the capacity will be a bit raised up to 32.000 in place of 30.000.

Even 34-35.000 and that's good news.
