January in Northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota

Today I didn't feel like going too far, so I decided to stay home and start a Northeast Minneapolis photo thread.

I forgot to charge my camera's battery before I left the house, so it died after fifteen minutes. Unfortunately I only managed to capture a tiny area of Old Saint Anthony. There's a lot more ground to cover, so I'll most likely add to the thread later.

Nice pic of The Best Bar in America!

Great pics overall, Jennifat. NE gave birth to Horst's Aveda empire and the Holyland Deli mini-empire. It's unarguably the city's real arts district, with hundreds of studios and of course, America's largest art gallery tour, Art-A-Whirl.

Nice pictures! This area looks like a great place, with a nice mix of uses in buildings (old industrial, old commercial, new commercial, residential, religious, etc) and variations in elevations and directions. It must be pretty fun to explore.

Nice-looking area. The snow also adds a nice touch.

Thanks for all of your kind comments, everyone. If anyone is interested in seeing more, I've posted my conclusion to this photo tour as "Round 2".

Thanks mohammed! The fact that someone would want to use my photos as desktop wallpaper is one of the best compliments I've ever received.

Beautiful City with a nice center. I remember visiting a big Greek Orthodox Church overlooking a lake in Minneapolis. Loved the city. Looks nice with snow too !

I believe the title of the thread is Northeast Minneapolis, Not downtown.

This is a small part of Northeast Minneapolis called Old Saint Anthony, directly across the Mississippi River from downtown. It's the red shaded area in this map:

You very well may have; it's a quite popular and well-known establishment here in Minneapolis. It was voted "America's Best Bar" by Esquire.
