SoNo East | 22-27 fl | Com

Height: Unknown
Floor count: ~22-27
Location: West Blackhawk and North Dayton
Neighborhood: Near North Side
Construction end:
Architect: Antunovich Associates, Berkhelhamer Architects
Developer: Smithfield Properties

Website: http://www.antunovich.com/

http://chicago.curbed.com/archives/2...nstruction.php

http://www.emporis.com/application/?...ng=3&id=170437

Emporis says 27 stories.
Curbed says 5 stories shorter than SONO so thats 22
The Rendering on Antunovich I counted 25
Confusing.

But very cool development in an emerging area.
Right by the Apple Store and EL stop at Halsted and North.

more renderings from architect and excerpt from Curbed Chicago

http://chicago.curbed.com/archives/2...hp#sono-east-4

http://berkelhamer.com/

Looks like it will be 22 floors

Yesterday, we (Curbed Chicago) heard from Adam Berkelhamer, principal of California-based Berkelhamer Architects, who informed us that although Antunovich is the architect of record for the project, Berkelhamer is designing the building. Renderings from the Berkelhamer website show a glassy high-rise that is similar in many ways to the Booth Hansen-designed condo building next door, but it's quite different from the plans Booth Hansen drew up for that site (see slide #2 for comparison). Since the two-tower project was first floated, we've wondered whether a SoNo East tower would block the western tower's views. From this rendering, it appears to be offset enough for condo owners to at least have a clear view of the downtown skyline. And of course, SoNo East will be five floors shorter than the existing building, so penthouse owners shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Why is this being labeled as "approved"? I thought it was already in "site prep"
