Nope they don't. This is a custom JL layout whereby all seats have direct aisle access. The window and centre seats are slightly staggered in a way that allows a little bit of space for direct aisle, while the staggered space is then given as storage cubby space for the aisle seat. The space staggering also allows for increased privacy for all patrons but still (sort-of) allows for couples to dine together.

BA's ClubWorld configuration is based on forward-backward ying-yang seating arrangement (which is actually patented and in theory the most efficient way of maximising a cabin space).

CX has a reverse-herringbone where all seats, with direct aisle access, are diagonal and face away from the aisle. This configuration was first featured on US debuted as "Envoy Suite."

The Airbus press release:

Quote:
Airbus and Japan Airlines sign their first ever order

Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed a purchase agreement for 31 A350 XWBs (18 A350-900s and 13 A350-1000s), plus options for a further 25 aircraft. This is JAL’s first ever order for Airbus aircraft.* It is also the first order Airbus has received from Japan for the A350 XWB, confirming its continuing success with world leading airlines across the globe. JAL and Airbus aim for entry into service from 2019, with the airline’s A350 XWBs gradually replacing its ageing fleet approximately over a six year period.
http://www.airbus.com/newsevents/new...st-ever-order/
These numbers are enought to replace all their regional and long-haul configured 777-200ERs, 777-300s & 777-300ERs.

That leaves their 15 domestic 777-200s, they could be replaced by the A350 options or they will buy more 787s and then especially the 787-10 to do that. If they want to go really big again domestically they could still place a 777-9 order that could have as many seats or more as their old 747-400Ds. And with just 2 engines they should be allowed to be used at Osaka Itami airport.

All of ANA's flights into SIN are now operated by their B787s.

Approaching the end of an era:

ANA 747-481(D) arriving at Hiroshima Airport on 17 November 2013:

The same plane departing on the same day:

Once the ANA 747's retire in March 2014, there will be no more 747's in commercial airline service in Japan.

You mean passenger service.

NCA still operates a cargo 747 only fleet and will do for years to come with the 747-8Fs coming in.

True, but you won't be able to fly any 747 in passenger service after March 2014. The question now is how long will ANA keep their non-ER 777-300's in revenue service flying from Tokyo-Haneda to Fukuoka and Sapporo-Chitose?

ANA will move all it's London - Tokyo flight from Narita to Haneda at the end of March 2014.
http://www.ana.co.jp/eng/aboutana/pr...pdf/131209.pdf

Other new International flight from Haneda that will start on the same date are Paris, Vancouver, Hanoi, Jakarta & Manila. Plus there will be extra services to Singapore and Bangkok that are moved to Haneda from Narita.

schedules of the new services.

These changes mean that there are for the time being no connecting flights on ANA metal from London to Oceania. The option only remains with the ANA codeshare on the Virgin Atlantic London - Narita flights.

I don't know where to post my thoughts of ANA, so i'll just post in this thread since it does relate to my comment. Do you guys recommend ANA as a Airline of choice for Long-haul Flights? I plan to go to from Manila to Seattle around April and I'm thinking of going with ANA. Simply because they use NAIA Terminal 3 and their Schedule is superior compared to Asiana Airlines, which my mom wants. Asiana Airlines has a better deal for Flights, but i don't like how there's a 13 Hour connecting Flight when you arrive in Korea FROM Seattle. With ANA, you generally pay more, but their Schedule is better. What do you guys think?

With that flight, the age of the 747 in commercial airline service in Japan comes to an end. It'll be interesting to see how long ANA and JAL continue to fly the non-ER 777-300 in domestic service, though.

Need to spot more 747's as the fleet shrinks worldwide!

I would probably go with ANA if there was a shorter layover time, but I have heard great things about Seoul-Incheon.
