Anyone knows what this big glassed low-rise building in front of the tall building for?
Concert hall? Exhibition hall?...

Very elegant and sleek design.

First pic or last one? The first is a station, the last is a hotel.

The last picture. It is beyond my imagination if it is a hotel building. Anyway,
a very elegant building, indeed.

I thought it must be a museum something like that.

They're all actors paid by the government. They follow anyone holding a camera.

Been to Yujiapu yesterday for a conference. The place is very much still a construction site, but some buildings are already open with some offices already occupied (not many but it's starting). The basement levels of all buildings are interconnected into one pedestrian shopping arcade, which connects to the high-speed train station. I walked there and there are already shops and eating places open. Not many people yet, but there are certainly some. The high-speed train is working - I took the train from Yujiapu back to Beijing. There were probably around 200-300 people (looked like office workers) boarding the train there - not the thousands that may be there one day but certainly very real people. There are several trains from Yujiapu to Tianjin and Beijing every day (I think I noticed 7-10 trains daily) - all high-speed trains. So don't buy all the crap foreign publications sell you. This place is a reality. high-speed trains are expensive - I don't think they would send a dozen there daily for some ghosts or hired actors...

^ thanks for that update Zivro. We know they are real people going about their business there. Its that we joke because of western press and a few trolling forumers on this site. Zivro, pictures are always welcomed here!

That underground shopping mall you mentioned has some tax free shops which is cool. Bought my wife an iPhone there cheaper from the electronics store. Also has a nice IMAX cinema which I went to a week ago.

The perks of living 5 minutes away by car eh!

And yes I can confirm its very much a work in progress but the number of places you can go and things to do is always increasing and more people are starting to go there.

People are mistaken to confuse this with a western construction when an area will be added to very slowly, one building at a time, based on existing demand. It's not designed and expected to open each building and the next day their complete and the area is bustling. It's a medium - long term goal of occupancy which is likely to work out in time due to rising city populations, a growing tertiary sector and record numbers of graduates each year who in the coming decade will mostly all go on to join service sector companies or create their own in time.

People need to relax! The only thing that concerns me is construction finance. Some of the towers such as the twin towers and another one (the closest one to downtown TEDA 1st avenue district) have shown basically zero progress in the last 2 years I've been here
