Today i talked to the watchman of the plot. He told that he wasnt quite sure abt the building coming up there, but construction works would start very soon.
He also told that construction equipments has arrived here at trivandrum, from Dubai. Will get full details of the project as soon as constructions commence.

SFS mall is one of the most awaited malls in Trivandrum. It will be developed as part of their mega project, Cyber Palms. Now the count down starts...

According to its Chairman Srikant, Cyber Palms would in another 45 days host the ground-breaking ceremony for an attached mall, the first-of-its-kind organised retailing facility in Thiruvananthapuram. "All licenses and clearances have been sanctioned for the mall", he says. It is attracting the attention of major brands from within the State and outside of it.

This image was posted a few weeks back. A sea change from the initial perspective which had a tentative perspective of a true-mall but then SFS had an afterthought on that. Good to see they're serious about the commercial space along this high-demand corridor, even better news if it is in the shopping-mall format.

That is humongous to say the least. With around 2 lakh sq.feet/floor, the building should itself be filling up more than 4 acres of land. Which means the building will have the size of almost 3 football fields. Stunning !!!

Good to introduce mall culture to the city. Once the malls become popular, the shops will shift from the roadsides and this will avoid the traffic congestion. Ideally malls should be a little away from main roads. Malls should also have ample car parking facilities. We need to move the shops along the road side and footpaths to malls. This will free up the footpaths and enable free flowing traffic.
