I strongly believe they are referring to the "Malankara Avenue", which is a shopping complex under construction opposite to Chalakuzhy Road @ Pattom,which will be having 53000 sq feet for lease on completion. The pic of the building has been posted several times in the Trivandrum projects thread.

I had visited the building today. The top floor which is currently occupied by QRS is under utilised. Washing Machines, Refrigerators, ACs are all in this floor. Though there seems to be a decent collection, there is plenty of space that's not properly utilised. Hopefully, once the shop gets going in full swing, this would be better.

Besides MAX, KFC, Nilgiris and QRS there was also a "School Uniform" shop that was operating out of the building. It's situated on the ground floor on the left side. KFC will go on the right side.

The small shop on the left was there prior to the construction of the new building and they contributed their land to the project in exchange for the space in the building.

This is an excellent example of how to grow by mutually beneficail projects.

The mall attracts more crowd,which includes prospective customers,there by increasing the business volume.

Small shops in other places like thakaraparambu can join hands to create a super shop/complex kind of a building thereby growing the business,instead of fighting for rehabilitation,obstructing the construction activity,....

Viz. four small shop owners can join together to construct a four level building,with each one occupying a floor each.Better furnished shop and buildings with ample parking space will attract more customers.

According to the Mall Development & Leasing Consultant for the "Mall of Travancore" :

Saw some serious temporary fencing activity around Condor land @ Pattom .
I hope they will soon start the construction of this long awaited mall.
