Typos in EENADU article

There are two typos in Eenadu Telugu article

Read Devarakadra- Krisnha (instead of Devarakonda-Krishna)- this is part of Mahabubngar-Munirabad line which is under construction.

Also read Macherla-Nalgonda ( Instead of Manchiryal-Nalgonda), this line construction preliminary works started very recently.

He has sought allotment of funds in the railway budget of 2012-13 and include new projects in the budget like new lines between Tellapur and Patancheru, Secunderabad-Kachiguda-Nampally, Nampally-Shamshabad Airport and electrification of Secunderabad-Medchal. While demanding merger of Visakhapatnam Division into South Central Railways (SCR), Dattatreya has said the railway ministry should not merge Khazipet-Warangal section into Vijayawada division as this would create problems to employees pertaining to Telangana region. He also urged early completion of Multi-Model Transport System (MMTS) phase-II project covering suburban areas of Greater Hyderabad. Dattatreya also requested Trivedi to fill up 3000 vacant posts, mostly D grade, in South Central Railway.

Every Railway Budget comes with a lot of expectations from people of different regions and this year, it will be the same. And the gap between sanction of projects, allocation of funds and actual release is yawning.
A whopping sum of Rs. 8,500 crore is needed to complete 13 much-needed lines and two projects that have already been sanctioned under the jurisdiction of South Central Railway (SCR) in Andhra Pradesh.
These are the 309-km, Nadikudi-Srikalahasti stretch sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs. 1,313 crore and the 42-km, Gudur-Durgarajapatnam line estimated at Rs. 284 crore.
Of the 11 remaining lines sanctioned, the older pertains to the 179-km Peddapalli-Karimnagar-Nizamabad project, estimated at Rs. 820 crore, way back in 1993-1994. Only Rs. 458 crore has been released in the past 18 years for this project.
State's plea

It may be recalled that at a meeting here on February 15, attended by Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi, Minister of State K.H. Muniyappa and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and Members of Parliament strongly voiced their demand that 40 per cent of all railway projects in the State should go to serve the 10 districts across the Telangana region. They regretted that five lines sanctioned recently were earmarked for the Coastal and Rayalaseema regions.
Funds for new lines

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said the State government had sanctioned Rs. 550 crore for new lines being taken up on 50: 50 cost sharing basis. Such projects include doubling and trebling of two lines at an estimated cost of Rs. 139 crore, he said in his presentation.
It's not just new lines, but even those for which surveys have been conducted, that are in limbo now. Of 120 lines that were surveyed for technical feasibility, 32 have been found to be most needed, including six that were proposed to be taken up with 50:50 sharing between the Centre and State.
SCRMU rues neglect

Ch. Sankar Rao, general secretary of the South Central Railway Mazdoor Union and Assistant GS of All India Railwaymen's Federation, rues the neglect of much-needed projects by successive governments.
Gone are the standards followed in the past when the consideration for sanction of projects used to be the Rate of Return', apart from the people's need, he said.

"Although the Manjeera pipeline, that supplies water to the city, passes through Aditya Nagar, Krishna Nagar and Subhash Chandra Bose Nagar in new Hafeezpet, these colonies do not get drinking water," Goud said. He said that in colonies like Youth Colony, Sai Nagar, Guttala Begumpet and Kondapur, weaker sections of the population had to make do with the water that is supplied them only once a week.

While Telugu Desam Party floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy suggested that GHMC should adopt a resolution effecting a merger of HMWS&SB with the municipal corporation, MIM floor leader Mohd Nazeeruddin said that the corporation should allot five power borewells to each corporator as they try to combat the water problem this summer.

The Mayor responded that the policy decision on any such merger needed to be discussed with higher authorities since the water board is a constitutional body. He said that the corporation would coordinate with HMWS&SB regarding the water supply to adjoining areas.

MT Krishna Babu, the GHMC commissioner, said that a summer action plan has been prepared,adding that corporators may commission sewerage network works in their respective areas with their Rs 1 crore corporator's budget.

MIM corporator Mirza Mustafa Baig said that garbage collection was not being properly executed and blamed the situation on a paucity of garbage clearance vehicles. He alleged that neither had GHMC purchased new vehicles nor hired workers for garbage disposal in the last two years after it entered into an agreement with Ramky group.

Krishna Babu admitted that garbage clearance has been facing hiccups over the past two weeks with workers worried about job security in the wake of the Ramky agreement on the integrated solid waste management project. The commissioner gave an assurance that neither would workers be retrenched nor forced to take a pay cut in the light of the Ramky project.

He said that additional vehicles would be hired for garbage disposal. He said that no new vehicles needed to be purchased since the corporation has provisions for the maintenance of vehicles. However, he said that new tricycles and bins would be procured.

Azampura corporator Amjad Ullah Khan said several illegal constructions were coming up in his division with the connivance of town-planning staff.

The Mayor directed the commissioner to list the illegal buildings that they may be demolished. The commissioner, however, said that it would be impossible to prevent unauthorised constructions in the 625 sq.km zone under GHMC's purview with only 74 officers.

Mr Kesi, instead of taking the articles from the eenadu website pls take the same from eenadu epaper site where the articles can be saved as an image file, so the font problem is eliminated & also the text will be readable.

why has AP government ot requested any Passenger / Fast Express/ Shatabdi / JanaShatabdi / Durnoto from Anantpur to Yesvantapur?
Is it because of less passenger traffic.

Based on above news AP government should procure some Trains which can cover 200-250 Kmph.

Anatapur - Yesvantapur
Hyderabad - Vijayawada
Hyderabad - Anatapur
Vijayawada - Nandayal-Guntakal

Yerraguntla - Nandyal Railway Line ( Funds need to released for faster execution)

The state doesnt just have rayalseema.It has also telangana reion also.
Anantapur to bangalore doesnt need a high speed rail.Infact tiruapti to bangalore would be a good proposition.

Train passengers of Krishna district are eagerly awaiting the allocation of funds for doubling and electrification of the Vijayawada-Machilipat-nam and Narsapur line and upgradation of Vijay-awada railway station.

Railway Minister Mr Dinesh Trivedi will present the budget for 2012-13 in Parliament on Wednesday.

The 221-km Vijayawada-Machilipatnam-Narsapur doubling and electrification work cost is estimated to cost Rs.1,000 crore. The state will bear 50 per cent of the project cost. With increasing train services between Vijayawada-Vizag-Kolkata, the Vijaya-wada-Narsapur line will be very useful to the railways.

Passengers travelling between Vijayawada and Machilipatnam can avail cheap train services at Rs.14, while the bus costs ` 51.

Running of express trains will be viable if doubling and electrification works are completed. Besides, the project will be very useful for transportation of goods from Machilipatnam to Hyderabad and other parts of India if the Machilipatnam port is completed. The railways cleared the project in the previous budget but did not allocate funds. Upgra-dation of Vijayawada railway station is also pending for a long time. As per its income the railway station must have escalators on the platforms. These are available on only two platforms.

Works on installation of lifts are going on at a snail’s pace and women passengers need more waiting rooms in the railway station. The station has no first aid centre and inadequate drinking water taps for 170 express and passengers trains that halt every day. Passengers need cloak rooms on all platforms and demand that development works on 8, 9 and 10 platforms be completed. Proposals for long distance trains from Vijayawada to Mumbai and Ahmedabad are pending for a long time.

Machilipatnam-Repalle, Bitragunta-Donakonda, Donakonda-Vadarevu, Ongole-Donakonda, Kris-hnapatnam-Obulevarip-alle, Guduru-Durgarajapa-tnam, Kakinada-Pithapuram, Kotipalli-Nayapur projects are pending for a long time.
