example from Poland:

Poznan cathedral - Golden chapel

built in XIX century as a symbolical Chapel of The First of Piasts (first dynasty known to rule in Poland). byzantine style meant to be “a proper style” chosen for the chapel of prince Mieszko I and his son, first king of Poland – Boleslaw Chrobry (king since 1025).

Hagia Sophia Museum, Istanbul, Turkey

[QUOTE=Stanpolitan;73892905]All Orthodoxes know this church and was the biggest church for 900 years in Europe and in the world, till St. Peter of got influenced highly from Haghia Sophia.

Hagia Sophia, the epitome of Orthodoxy with additional minarets and looks like a mosque from far, but not at all!!!

embora densa, a arquitetura romanica é muito bonita, carrega um ar medieval que causa sensações intensas. alguns dos projetos acima ficaram bastante criativos.

True Byzantine style whether neo or classical is just amazing to look at. Much more beautful and harmonious than the jarring gothic styles of the western church.

You mean the mosques look like Hagia Sophia, not the other way around. After all, it was built before the birth of Islam.

Romania is full of civic buildings and private homes in NeoByzantine style. The Romanian neoByzantine was developed in the 17th century and it is called Brancovenesc
