Shichahai is one of Beijing's most popular historical sites. It took shape during the Mongol Empire when Beijing was its capital. Nowadays, the precincts are crowded with lots of bars, clubs and restaurants, thus it became one of the city's major night-life fairylands. Local beijingners also enjoy skating there every winter when the lakes get frozen. The area is also walking distance from the famous Drum tower , Bell Tower, Prince Gong's Mansion and prince Chun's Mansion.

Lama Temple (or Yonghe Gong), Beijing's biggest Tibetan Buddhist Temple.
The Temple used to be Emperor Yongzheng's residency when he was still a crown prince, formerly known as Yonghe Gong or Yonghe palace. The complex was converted to a lamasery after Yongzheng's ascension to the throne.
