Reer Borama settled in a very serene place, when most cities and towns were usually established on the sandy coastlines to get a foothold in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea commerce. The historic inland cities and towns like Abasa, Amud, Botiala and Luuq all died out or significantly declined in favour of new settlements.

Its good to see Borama still thriving.

Borama was never this green when i used to visit the summer

I had to leave before the raining season started because of school in Djibouti.

Borame has one of the best climates of the Somali cities. Milder than Hargeisa even.

I have been to Hargeisa very recently for the first time and I'm glad to say the weather was very pleasant specially to someone from North America but was very disappointed about the road conditions.
