Yes Caijia Jialing River Bridge is a metro bridge only. Ma'anshi Highway Bridge (G75) was already built nearby.

Chongquin is the world's busiest monorail system as Tokyo's line is a single one but with still good ridership of 200,000/day.

Damn, some of the best pictures of the Chongqing monorail yet. Its a shame that Line 4 and 5 will just be regular boring 90% underground conventional subways. The monorail could possibly attract tourists just like the Yurikamome Line.

I also can't believe the height of their roadway viaducts there ... seemingly ridiculously and unnecessarily high.

Also, could someone start an Airport construction thread for CKG Jiangbei International Airport Terminal 3? I believe the runways at least are under construction, but there must be some info about the master plan that could be discussed. ...

but I digress - --

EDIT: Actually, the map posted on the previous page does show a "New Terminal" station (Line 3/Line 10), and the seven-station extension is on a different spur of monorail Line 3.
Rail transit planning for new terminal of Jiangbei Airport
by Chongqing Urban Planning Bureau
  • New Line 10 will connect T2 and T3;
  • APM will connect all terminals (T1, T2A, T2B, T3A, T3B);
  • Line 3 (currently linked with T2B) will not extend to T3;

Yes, after digging around I found that Chongqing metro has this breakdown of ridership. They didn't specify if it was average ridership or a one shot:

Mono Line 3: 1,082,023
Mono Line 2: 690,130
Metro Line 1: 620,037
Metro Line 6: 34,064

Source

So the chongqing metro has the world's busiest monorail system. On top of that it has the busiest and the second busiest monorail lines.

Actually, the digits are all off, and daily vs. average is getting mixed up.
Did you machine translate that?

It should read:

Line 1:
Annual: 62,003,700

Line 2:
Annual: 69,013,000

Line 3:
Annual: 108,202,300
Daily average: 296,400

Line 6 (new line):
Annual: 3,406,400
Daily average: 36,200 (58,800 max)

no I didn't machine translate that. That's probably why it is wrong. I just mixed up what the 万 character means. Sorry about that.

Does Line 6 run for 10 hours a day or something? How are ridership figures that low? I mean this is lower than Green Line, which runs through an uninhabitable area of Los Angeles.

I believe it's because is not fully operational. When line 6 reaches Xiaoshizi (On the city core as well as transfer to line 1) and Beibei ridership will boost up.
