It appears that a new station has opened on Line 6 within the last several days - Xiangjiagang Station. This is an infill station between the existing Caijia and Longfengxi station.

2014.09.28

What's more, there were three other stations that were opened on 2014.09.28, which have heretofore gone unmentioned in this thread. They were:
  • Tiansheng Station on Line 6 (infill between Zhuangyuanbei and Beibei stations at the very northern end of the line)
  • Jiuquhe Station on Line 6 (infill between Kangzhuang and Lijia stations)
  • Shijingpo Station on Line 1 (infill between Ciqikou and Shuangbei stations)

Xiangjiagang Station apparently became the 100th in the system.

And unlike the other recently opened stations, this is on a new stretch of track, extending line 1 to the west from the existing Daxuecheng terminus.

very great news, thanks everyone!

I'd expect a lot of announcements of openings within the next couple of years as new lines and extensions of existing lines open up.

Is Chongqing CRT now the longest and most expansive metro system in China outside of BJ, SH, and GZ. ?

Shenzhen is fourth with 131 stations and 178 km of track.

Tianjin and Dalian are the only other ones with more than 100km of track; Nanjing falls *just* short (unless you count the Ninggao Intercity). Tianjin has 140km and Dalian is at 130km though neither has more than 100 stations.

Wait a few more years and half of the cities will have 100+ stations!

Why are monorail trains so short? 5 14-meter cars per train.

Actually it's 6 car 15m long trains. Expanding to 8 cars this year. In the end the train will be 120m long; the length comparable to 6 car B size trains.

New changes to Line 3 with introduction of 8 car vehicles.
