This airport is on my list of greatest airports of this time, its amazing. All it needs is a bit more expansion in the future for it to become a mega airport.

The Pulkovo airport in the Boeing-747 window. The Boeing-747 after landing moves to Pulkovo-2 terminal via the old terminal of Pulkovo-1 and via the new terminal .

Today the airport "Pulkovo" has begun to take a St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Currently, the airport of St. Petersburg is operating normally.

It is planned that all during the Forum, the airport will take more than 200 business aircraft flights with business representatives and officials on board.

Last year during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, June 22, 2012, were served the maximum number of flights in the history of the airport - Flight 574. On average in 2012, air harbor of St. Petersburg served 293 flight per day.

Traditionally, at the time of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, closed runway number 1, which opens on June 23, 2013. On the runway organized 65 additional parking for aircraft first and second grades.


Participants in the forum will be about 5 thousand, 2 500 people - is VIP-members.



The arrival of the official delegations from 66 countries. As honored guests of the Forum are invited German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte. At the moment, the St. Petersburg airport is operating normally - no major delays.

Yesterday, on June 19, 2013, the Pulkovo airport started receiving guests of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The total of flights served at the Pulkovo airport on June 19, 2013 made 604 flights that became an absolute record for air harbor of St. Petersburg. From them an arrival of 204 regular flights, a departure there were 208 flights and 192 flights of business aircraft. The total of the served passengers exceeded 47 thousand people.

Let's remind that last year during carrying out the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, on June 22, 2012, the maximum number of flights for all history of the airport - 574 flights was served. On the average in 2012 the air harbor of St. Petersburg served 293 flights a day.

Construction of the second phase of the terminal in St. Petersburg airport "Pulkovo" will start earlier than planned in 2017 and will cost around 500 million euros.



The new terminal "Pulkovo" will cost about 500 million euros, told RIA "Novosti" head of the department of infrastructure financing, "VTB Capital", one of the concessionaires of the terminal, Oleg Pankratov.
"The real traffic has surpassed all the plans that we made, even the most optimistic. Now we are seriously working on, will soon begin designing. Phase two will have to start much sooner than anyone thought. Investments Squad list of about 500 million euros," . He added that initially begin construction of the second phase was planned in 2017.
Commissioning of the first phase of the terminal is scheduled for late 2013.

Also it would be desirable to add that it is a question not reconstruction of the old terminal of Pulkovo-1. Which will begin since January, 2014 and will end in the middle of 2014. And it is a question of absolutely new second turn of the Pulkovo airport. Which even wasn't projected yet.
