Yeah I've noticed... Wouldn't it be a wiser move to decommission the existing terminal once the NEW terminal becomes operational...?

Understand there is cost involved but just doesn't look right mixing the old with the NEW...

To have such old terminal for such city as Sankt - Petersburg - the 4th city on the population in Europe it is a shame.

As will stop to build the new terminal that will start to reconstruct old Pulkovo-1. Then all flights both internal and international will reduce in these two terminals. And Pulkovo-2 will close. Then at further growth of a passenger traffic possibly construction 2 oh turns of the new terminal. So Germans who took all airport Pulkovo under management want to make

Sergey Emdin shared information on a course of construction of the new passenger terminal with mass media: «Works are conducted in full accordance with the approved plan. Closing of a contour of a building will be in the nearest future carried out and a preparatory work for heat giving is carried out during the forthcoming heating season. The new centralized passenger terminal should open for passengers at the end of 2013. By this time it is planned to finish building of objects of the area near the station also. Then the company will start reconstruction of the passenger terminal of "Pulkovo-1". It will come to the end in the middle of 2014. Therefore, the total area of terminals will increase in 3,5 times and will reach 146 600 sq.m»

Folker Vendefoyeyer, noted the Executive operational director of JSC Northern Capital Gateway: «The operator of the airport held complex events for increase in capacity of existing terminals.
