I am glad other people notice this as well! In regards to Afghani workers, behind our old house in Tehran, I recently saw some afghan builders on a new apartment block behind. As I understand building and renovation as I have done my own renovation projects on 1900's buildings I can say that there craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired. My building was built in the 1970's and my question would be, what was the building quality like in those days? Did Iran have better builders?

certainlyin the shah' s time building had very strict laws and regulations, thats why many 50 year old appartments in iran still stand, but 10 year old ones built under the lovely regime have collapsed constantly |

we arent talking about earthquakes, there were deaths, but surely 'thousands' didnt die,or else now that we have earthquakes much more should die, but they dont
regarding earthquake-resistance, nor today, or a few decades ago , did our construction laws really care, well they did and still do but arent enforced today many buildings are overly cheap and weak, u think itl collapse any moment lol |

Quote:
Their are good houses made from better materials from the 50s and early 60s but once the population of Tehran started growing exponentially, the need for houses increased and builders got away with using garbage materials, having no standards.... Basically up until 15 years ago the City council (before and after revolution) didn't give a damn about how you built your house. |

Nice
![]() The green areas, trees etc are really needed to reduce the pollution in Tehran (They absorb all the carbon dioxide and turn it into oxygen). |
