I think it's the international symbol of Detroit, GM, techno music and a well-deserved middle finger to the loyalists across the river.

**blink blink** what has Windsor done to be given a well-deserved finger?

The War of 1812 was over some time ago.. so might be time to "let it go"!

I've never found out the name of the thing until now, but I think Barcelona's scourge is not the Torre Agbar, rather the Edificio Colón:

what an ugly piece of concrete shit. I lived right in the middle of the Gotìc for a few months, and it was a perpetual eyesore among the relative harmony of the old town.

I don't understand all this rage towards any brutalist high-profile buildings. For me, the fact they catch all attention is the proof of how clever and full of personality those buildings are. I honestly wish we had more high-rise brutalist towers u/c.

I believe you're thinking of Prudential Center in the Back Bay. I like that tower, honestly. It's got an interesting "in your face" feel, but more mature. I dunno, I just like the overall design, especially the top.

It looks like the skycraper equivalent to a drag queen.

Tuntex Sky Tower (378m/1,240ft with antenna) in Kaohsiung, another candidate for me.

Not really. I just think they all look stunted. I could think of about five towers that would look better with another 10-20 floors tacked on.

The IDS center would have been the winner in the 70's:

but the city grew around it, and now it fits in well:

Not me. I prefer to have no highrises at all in a city's old town (e.g. Amsterdam vs Brussels). Heck, I'd say most glass boxes look uninspiring as well.
