And what's up with the heat? I also remember the unbearable heat! Even though Bangkok temperatures are similar (i.e. +33C or so during daytime) but somehow KL feels hotter... or is it just me? Anyway, I'll be keenly waiting for your Bangkok photos which is a megapolis in a league of its own.
thanks! Where abouts in Asia are you going?

KL initially for us was going to be a stopover but we ended up staying longer which turned out great!

The heat is pretty bad haha. We've heard about the heat and humidity before and we expected it anyway. Some days are better than others but when it's humid and the sun's fully out, it makes seeing sights a little harder as it's just so hot!!
Bangkok we found was cooler and more comfortable though there was one day which was just as blistering hot. But yea, your right, I found KL much more hot than Bangkok.

Bangkok is getting cooler. Right now it's about 21 degrees celcius and we're in the hot season!

anyway, KL is located in a valley. geographically, valley traps dust and haze. KL is just being 'unlucky'.
Las Vegas is in a valley surrounded by mountains but the air quality never gets as bad as in South East Asian countries. We have our share of dust problems with Las Vegas being a desert but overall we enjoy beautiful blue skies year round. Another thing we have smog emission check on our vehicles on a yearly basis prior to having it registered and it needs to pass and meet State mandated standards.

I believe part of the problem in South East Asia is the slash and burn farming, the clearing of rainforests contributing to its deteriorating air quality. Add the fact China which is a large manufacturing country as a neighbor contributing to the haze and smoggy conditions in the area.

Yeah, the heat n humidity is something to get accustomed to....not for everyone. Just like when I was first in Australia, the heat n dryness got to me....coupled with the flies...LOL.....London was fine for me, pretty nice weather. But its cooler now in KL....rain n shine....

i think also because of it's location cloes to the equator and all the humidity trapping the air etc...

For a city that is notorious for smog and haze, do vehicles in LA have to go through smog emission check too to ''pass and meet State mandated standards?'' im just wondering.. cheers

Ask in the LA forum, you will get the answer you want to hear. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the blue sunny Spring time skies we have in Vegas.

Very nice pictures, thanks for uploading. Even I have been to Malaysia a couple of times, my favorite spot there is undoubtedly the twin towers, the view is just amazing, even better when visiting in the night.
