I'm amazed at how little attention this building gets internationally given that a) It's being built in New York. b) It's such a unique design. c) It's being built by a Starchitect. And d) it has such a prominent place on the waterfront. I guess height really does matter.

Bjarke Ingels himself posted a couple photos today on Instagram.

The courtyard.

Not quite sure what this metal framework is.

The metal frame will hold the cladding.

Yes it is to attach the cladding and the form is to give the facade its slopeness.

I wonder what the fašade material will be, white concrete, stone, or fritted glass?

And the grid pattern on the straight side is just amazing. It's as beautiful as the sloped side.

I wonder about that too. That decision can often be what makes or breaks a project.

this tower is nice, but a bit strange for nyc. It looks like something you'd see in Dubai.

With it's height it has no chance of destroying the skyline in any way. And in itself it's a great piece of architecture so imo it's only great it's being build even if it slightly different from your usual new york block.

This is too elegant and refined to be in Dubai

It also complements mercedes house a bit, which I like.

Great progress!
btw. I have some photos of this building I took myself and tried to post here from flickr, but the link isn't working. Is there something else I need to do?

Dubai? No man this project makes a lot of sense in its location, Dubai's projects often lack that quality
