From July 27th (ILNY published his pictures on august 2nd but he informed that the pictures were taken on that day) to august 14th, only 18 days apart, less than three weeks, the building grew four stories, from the 12th floor to the 16th. About one and a half floor each week. Now that they finished the southern wing, and the northern wing is getting smaller, the pace is speeding up. Anyway, overall, the pace has been quicker than I imagined. I calculated that the first 11 floors went up in about 5 months, a bit over than two floors per month, pretty quick for a building with plates so large and each different than the other.

July 27th

Yea it's great how quickly this building is going up. Curious and looking forward towards the cladding. This is going to be a gem.

I thought the same thing. A ship-style building would be great there since real cruise ships dock down the street from there.

Until the day 2WTC restarts, this is the best building under construction in NYC in the 2010s.

This building will be really photogenic with all those strong angles and curves.

This building is my favorite construction project in the NYC metro... Runners up are 56 Leonard and Torre Verre (if that ever happens).

Hi, My name is William Bradford and I'm a NYC based multimedia producer with a passion for architecture, design and travel. I live in midtown and I'm really excited about this new building that will help to redefine Hell's Kitchen. Here's a short video that I shot today of the construction http://www.newyorkandbeyond.com

Great first post and a good-looking site! The Pyramid is looking super imposing there, and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the geometry of the sloping southern side.

Those are three of my favorites too! They all share a truly iconic kind of quality. Also Torre Verre is indeed happening. Get excited.

The Old IRT Power house to the North is a great under utilized space covering a full city block. Designed by Stanford White in 1903 it used to power the Subway and is reminiscent of the beaux arts style seen in the Old Penn station and U.S. Post Office.

perhaps there's an adaptive reuse for the structure in the near future. I believe it is Landmarked or under consideration.

Con Edison owns the structure and uses it for Steam generation and storage.

Imagine a Tate Modern type deal taking over that space
