Wow! Regardless of what I think of BIG, one thing I can say is that he gave us one of the most striking new buildings in the city, an instant masterpiece.

The great pyramid of Giza was taller than this when built. Now it is slightly shorter due to the top being missing. One was the tallest structure on earth for over 3800 thousand years. The other is at least cool looking.

This building is a neat shape so I understand your over exuberance.

Bjarke Ingels's Via Finally Unveils Pricing Ahead of Rental Launch
Apartments in the 709-unit building will begin renting on March 1
Ny.Curbed: http://ny.curbed.com/2016/2/25/11112...s-via-for-rent

Quote:
[...]
The development's unique shape necessitated 178 different floorplans for the studio through four-bedroom apartments, meaning few listings are the same. Some studios are alcove studios, and some two-bedrooms have two balconies rather than one. The list goes on. But all apartments in the building have washers and dryers and dishwashers. Even the affordable apartments, which are being filed through a lottery that opened in October 2015, come with the full appliance package.

Because of the variety of floorplans, Durst delivered pricing info by average cost per unit size. That breaks down as follows: on average, studios will ask $2,770, one-bedrooms will ask $3,880, two-bedrooms will ask $6,500, and three-bedrooms will ask $11,000. The real kicker is the average ask for a four-bedroom, which hovers at $16,500 per month

This building will, of course, have suitably-shaped doorways:

Building looks wonderful from the outside but I wonder what LIVING there would be like in real world conditions.
I've never lived in an condo/apartment housing but if someone has a preference to loud music playing or if you had a preference to smoke the finer things in life would a open window courtyard side annoy two hundred people at once?
I get the feeling everyone would know everyone's business here.....cool to live here but kind of on top of one another ...
