That's basically the case with every big apartment flat.

West 57th by BIG @bjarkeingels This building has a number of different facade conditions, each with a personality of its own. Architecture can be absolutely mesmerizing. #bjarkeingels #architecture #west57th #construction by Miles Kozatch, on Flickr

What a skyline even without LM and Midtown, and one more reason why i love NY skyline over any other is the "lights"

That's my opinion too. With its great "holes" it looks totally worst without any connection to the rest of the buildings design. Incomprehensible decision to make the top like it is
With a better fitting one i would rate 10/10 for it.

I wonder if they will be so great to remove the stinking fest (garbage plant) from the river right across from this building?

Best Tall building in America according to CTBUH
http://awards.ctbuh.org/media/ctbuh-...recipients/#PA

Quote:
Best Tall Building Americas Winner

VIA 57 WEST, accomplishes the ambitious goal of forging an entirely new high-rise typology. Coined by the architect as a “courtscraper,” the tower is a hybrid between the European perimeter block and the traditional Manhattan high-rise, while combining the advantages of both. It has the compactness, density, and intimacy of a classic courtyard building with the grandeur, airiness, and expansive views of a skyscraper. The building offers a unique vision for the future of the tall building; one that manages to synthesize high-quality and visually appealing architecture with the needs of the client, all without sacrificing environmental performance or residential quality. See the building profile on The Skyscraper Center.
“VIA 57 West is an inspired hybrid of the traditional courtyard block and high-rise tower. Its complex and intelligently orientated architecture maximizes occupants’ views to the Hudson River and activates the New York City waterfront with a dynamic new standard for integrated urban infill development.”
