Lovely, with this outstanding design plus the green space it can go for some prize.
But first see how it will look in real.

NYC already has Cleopatra's Needle and the Temple of Dendur, time for the pyramids!

Great news! Thanks for updating this thread. 57th Street is going to feature an amazing collection of architecture with this new building, along with One57, 432 Park Avenue, 225 W 57th, and 107 W 57th.

Definitely my favorite project out of the many currently in the works in NYC. But, who knows? I may pick a new favorite tomorrow!

Forgive my ignorance but does anyone know of any other buildings by this Durst Fetner?

Pictures I took at the site two weekends ago. It seems to be some sort of environmental cleanup that is actually going on there. I think construction of this building is a ways off:

Does that sign actually say construction will be completed by 9/13?? I assume this must be the cleanup and the actual construction will start soo after that.

Durst-Fetner is just the developer. The architect is Bjarke Ingels. Ingels is doing several projects in the US including the new San Francisco MOMA expansion as well as a new pair of residential towers in Ft. Lauderdale.

Better late than never I suppose: The SFMOMA expansion would be Snöhetta. Bjarke ingels does the Kimball Art Center in Park City, some observation tower-meets-giant honey stick in Phenix and the Rose Rock International Finance Centre for the Rockefellers in China.

Yep you're right! Bjarke Ingels is doing a large project in Ft. Lauderdale and possibly the Miami Beach Convention center. So he's busy down south!
