My client , in the Greater SEATTLE area, is interested in building these 12 stadiums in 3-D, using Maya, 3-d Max, unity ( or others) Of the 12; Maracana, Arena Corinthians, Mineirao,Arena Fonta Nova, Beira-Rio, Arena da Baixada, Estadio Mane Garrincha, Arena Perambuco, Castelao Stadium, Estadio das Dunas,Arena Pantenal, Arena Amazonia, the Maracana is being completed now, but requires further work, the others have not yet begin. So if you can create a FIRST PERSON, single view-point, walk-thru, 3-d environment, and want a good paying position, please let me know.

The March 22 post shows a subway station u-c on the left, part of our (fledgling) light rail system.

The progress on this stadium has been incredible. Once complete this will be the jewel of the Pac-12 and will be amongst the top 10 college football stadiums in the nation.

I can't believe within 5 years or so our liberal hipster town could potentially have four world class sports facilities that are each less than 20 years old.

Safeco Field (Mariners) - 1999
CenturyLink Field (Seahawks/Sounders) - 2002
New Husky Stadium (Husky Football) - 2013
Sonics/NHL Arena - 201?

Could any other US city share that claim?

Are you guys counting on getting the Sonics back? Seems like they're doing alright ion Oklahoma Or perhaps getting a new franchise?

Anyway I have to admit I used to hate American stadiums and especially college stadiums with their bleachers, lack of roofs etc. But that's all in the past, I love their character and that you can really tell the difference between them. The renovation looks superb while still keeping the character of the stadium

That's kind of a sore subject up here but luckily we have some plans in the works to build a new arena to bring back the NBA and get a NHL team here. It'll likely be via relocation, it may be in a year or in 5 years - it's hard to say right now but the NBA will be back in Seattle sooner or later.

Yes I definitely love the Husky Stadium renovation. It's a little disappointing that they are actually reducing the capacity by a couple thousand but after a decade of terrible to mediocre teams, they can't justify expanding right now. Hopefully down the road they will add a second deck to the west end zone (the enclosed end).

I should hope so. Seattle is my favorite North American city and definitely deserve a franchise

Any idea what the average attendance for Huskie games is?

I believe the last few years it's hovered around 62k or so. The new stadium will seat 70k so I hope the excitement for the new facility as well as an improved product on the field will lead to more sellouts. They are playing at the 67k seat CenturyLink field this year so it'll look closer to a full house for most games.

Yes, and in fact I can think of at least one city that could top it with five such venues:

Twin Cities...
Target Center, NBA Timberwolves 1991 (big renovation in upcoming years)
Excel Energy Center, NHL Wild 2000
Target Field, MLB Twins 2010
Approved, funded stadium NFL Vikings 2016
TCF Bank Stadium Big 10 NCAA Gophers 2009

Yes, probably a dozen or so.

Doubtful. There aren't too many US cities that have both a NFL team and a D1 BCS college football team.

Yeah, I was thinking of Minneapolis since they recently approved the NFL stadium. I didn't know the Target Center was getting a renovation and that the NBA/NHL teams had their own arenas, that is impressive.

Yes, there is Target Center rennovation $$$ tied into the financing for the new Vikings stadium. Target center is a nice facility in its own right but the need for an update is here this early because Excel Engergy Center is a masterpiece. It is an absolute gem of an NHL (or NBA) arena and it gets the bulk of the music tour dollars. It is always in direct competition with Target Center and Target Center needs the update to compete.

I am a huge college football fan and with a brother living near Tacoma, I am hoping to catch a Washington game in the new stadium after it opens. I have been following this project since the early days when it was proposed. I agree, it should be a first class facility located on a perfect piece of land. I also think Seattle will be an excellent home to an NHL team. I hope they get one... fast.
