In the next few days, there will be just 1 appeal remaining as the association ACRI-LIBERTE is to withdraw theirs further to negociations with the district of Nanterre. They indeed managed to make themselves heard & got what they wanted: a both way traffic for the RD 914 départementale (a specific road) & the retention of the park "Les Jardins de l'Arche".

Therefore, there will be quite soon one appeal remaining, that coming from the other association, GAP, which demands a full & detailled study about the noise involved by matches, concerts & other events inside & oustside the stadium. Depending on the study's results, the association will decide whether they retain their appeal or not.

Even though the appeal is not suspensive, Pascal Simonin (liable for the Arena 92 project) asserts he will not launch work as long as all appeals aren't cleared.

The 2 appeals need to get cancelled & the financial plan, which has changed compared to the last 3 years, is more complicated to secure. Lorenzetti is currently in touch with VINCI to find a financial solution & is reasonably confident. Late september, he will know more about it. Though, if no news at this point, it will be fucked up. Therefore, they'll have to either find another location or stay in Colombes & start from scratch. In other terms, either it starts or goes down the drain.

Racing Arena, the city of Nanterre & the EPADESA (Etablissement Public pour l'Aménagement de la Défense Seine Arche) proposed to the association GAP the creation of an accompaniment fund to prevent noise pollution.

At the end of the last dialogue meeting to unblock the current situation & for the only appeal against the ARENA 92's construction to be lifted, a new proposal to the association GAP has just been made tonight with the creation of an accompaniment fund to prevent noise pollution whose amount can go up to 450 000€[...]

Now, it all depends on that association...will they appreciate the efforts made & accept the deal? Fingers crossed...

Cela ne représente même pas le prix d'une fenêtre". Michel Parent, président de l'association s'étonne d'ailleurs que le maire de Nanterre ait communiqué sur cette proposition : "Nous avions demandé que ces discutions restent confidentielles" dit-il.

Sur la dizaines de points que comprend le protocole d'accord entre le Racing et GAP pour la lever du recours, seul le montant semble coincer. "Le GAP accepterait ainsi de retirer son recours contre le Permis de Construire de l’Arena à la condition expresse que des mesures techniques indispensables soient prises en charge financièrement pour les deux programmes de logements les plus proches de l’équipement
projeté et soumis au premier chef aux nuisances générées par la foule sur l’espace public environnant la salle de spectacle. En particulier, l’Association exige que les locataires des logements sociaux, dépourvus de moyens de se prémunir des nuisances, soient assurés que leur cas est bien pris en charge et que leur qualité de vie sera maintenue" déclare GAP.

"Le planning de finalisation du protocole est dans les mains du Racing Arena ; nous ne doutons pas qu’il souhaite aboutir rapidement" conclus GAP dans son communiqué.

Un accord pourrait ainsi être trouvé entre les deux partis dans les prochaines semaines.

As expected, they're just a pain in the ass interested in....MONEY.

Enfin une nouvelle concernant le projet de l'Arena 92. Le Racing a renoncé à son toît ouvrant. Le club de rugby a obtenu l'accord de la Fédération de Rugby pour pouvoir jouer les matchs dans une enceinte fermée. Cette décision permettra au club de Rugby des Hauts-de-Seine de diminuer le coût de son projet.

The Racing-Metro President Jacky Lorenzetti has announced today to the AFP (Agence France Press) that "everything is put together" for the ARENA 92's construction to start in La Défense 'in late 2012 early 2013'.

'Everything is put together, we're yet to give the first stroke of a pick. There are still talks to get finalized with a last association. We allow ourselves up to the end of the year to succeed' Jacky Lorenzetti said in an interview with the AFP.

'Two appeals are yet to get removed. We're in contact with the association, we talk, we make concessions. Both parts want the issue to get fixed' he added (...)

Not liking those two roof support columns in the upper tier at all. Wish it could be designed differently so there wasn't a need to angle the seats or even leave seats empty in order to prevent some major restricted views.

I guess they won't commercialize some seats around .
I apreciate the surrounds wich will produce a nice walking with a "coulée verte" + appartments.
