One appeal less!

In the next few days, there will be just 1 appeal remaining as the association ACRI-LIBERTE is to withdraw theirs further to negociations with the district of Nanterre. They indeed managed to make themselves heard & got what they wanted: a both way traffic for the RD 914 départementale (a specific road) & the retention of the park "Les Jardins de l'Arche".

Therefore, there will be quite soon one appeal remaining, that coming from the other association, GAP, which demands a full & detailled study about the noise involved by matches, concerts & other events inside & oustside the stadium. Depending on the study's results, the association will decide whether they retain their appeal or not.

Even though the appeal is not suspensive, Pascal Simonin (liable for the Arena 92 project) asserts he will not launch work as long as all appeals aren't cleared.

Arena 92 still in the dark...

Quote:
The 2 appeals need to get cancelled & the financial plan, which has changed compared to the last 3 years, is more complicated to secure. Lorenzetti is currently in touch with VINCI to find a financial solution & is reasonably confident. Late september, he will know more about it. Though, if no news at this point, it will be fucked up. Therefore, they'll have to either find another location or stay in Colombes & start from scratch. In other terms, either it starts or goes down the drain.

One appeal has been canceled...so there's only one left (it's still under discussion AFAIK).

The ball is in GAP's court

Quote:
09/10/2012

Racing Arena, the city of Nanterre & the EPADESA (Etablissement Public pour l'Aménagement de la Défense Seine Arche) proposed to the association GAP the creation of an accompaniment fund to prevent noise pollution.

At the end of the last dialogue meeting to unblock the current situation & for the only appeal against the ARENA 92's construction to be lifted, a new proposal to the association GAP has just been made tonight with the creation of an accompaniment fund to prevent noise pollution whose amount can go up to 450 000€[...]
Full article in french

Now, it all depends on that association...will they appreciate the efforts made & accept the deal? Fingers crossed...

Is there still an issue in regards to funding this project, though?

GAP considers the proposal unsatisfactory...

Quote:

To sum up, GAP says the amount proposed (450000€) is way too unsatisfactory to cover the work of the 341 flats concerned ...

As expected, they're just a pain in the ass interested in....MONEY.

To be continued...

@RMB2007 : I don't have a clue dude, but I guess we'll find this out that pretty soon...

Arena 92 gives up its open roof to lower the costs

Quote:

Work to start in december...?

Hi Stadiumbadass. You're welcome...though, I'm not gonna translate the previous article. Why? Because according to the latest article below (dating from october 23rd), the association GAP & the Racing would have finally come to an agreement.

Indeed, GAP is said to remove their appeal in the next few days after both the Racing & the town council of Nanterre accepted to compensate the nymbys for the nearby flats's soundproofing...

Let's wait for this news to be official though...

Work to start early 2013

Quote:
The Racing-Metro President Jacky Lorenzetti has announced today to the AFP (Agence France Press) that "everything is put together" for the ARENA 92's construction to start in La Défense 'in late 2012 early 2013'.

'Everything is put together, we're yet to give the first stroke of a pick. There are still talks to get finalized with a last association. We allow ourselves up to the end of the year to succeed' Jacky Lorenzetti said in an interview with the AFP.

'Two appeals are yet to get removed. We're in contact with the association, we talk, we make concessions. Both parts want the issue to get fixed' he added (...)

Not liking those two roof support columns in the upper tier at all. Wish it could be designed differently so there wasn't a need to angle the seats or even leave seats empty in order to prevent some major restricted views.

+1
i notice this giant pillar in the middle of a central tribune in the 21st century!

I guess they won't commercialize some seats around .
I apreciate the surrounds wich will produce a nice walking with a "coulée verte" + appartments.
