Doesn't look that much different from 747-400. Somehow, the design is starting to look dated to me. I still like looking at a 747, but the A380 has grown on me over time.

To call the 747 a 1960's plane is a bit of a stretch. While the plane first flew in 1969, it wasn't until 1970 that it entered commercial service.

747-800 is better looking & just looks more classic than the impressive A380 to be honest!

nope, the 787 scheme is 2-4-2 (like A330s), the 748 is 3-4-3

The flightdeck will have more commonality with the current 744 and the 777 than the 787. The FMC, radar etc. will be advanced though. Boieng wanted to simplify the transition from the current 744.
