A source is telling me that Singapore has ordered a single 747-8i for presidential use. Awaiting official confirmation.

Seems unlikely. Given the five rather limited powers granted to the President by the Constitution of Singapore, he doesn't need an entourage large enough to justify anything bigger than a 737 or A320 bizjet. Even the Prime Minister of Singapore, who has vastly more power than the President and a substantially larger entourage, would be well-served by a 787 or A350.

Agreed, I'm doubting it too, but he is insisting it is true.

So I got my airlines confused on this one. It's actually SV/SVA that ordered a 748. Somehow when he told me SV is thought Singapore and not Saudia

There is still an 747-8I/BBJ airframe available, original ordered by a (deceased)member of the Saudi Royal family :

L/N 1446 - 747-8JA , RC004, serial number 40065 , BBJ customer : Saudi Crown Prince Bin Abdulaziz AlSaud (Saudi Arabian Government ),test registration N458BJ, future registration HZ-HMS1 , white livery, F/F May-30-2012, Delivery date: June 29-2012, Delivery flight (N458BJ- CYVR-KSBD) date July 9-2012. Owner : Bankof Utah Trustee, Salt Lake City, Utah (Corporation). Was stored at San Bernadino . The Future of this aircraft seems to be unsure, because the Prince passed away at October 22-2011. VIP outfitting contract with Jet Aviation (Basel) was cancelled. Ferried, again with call-sign N458BJ, to Lackland AFB TX at October 06-2012. Ferry flight (N458BJ- KSKF-LFSB) to Basel -Mulhouse at December 28-2012.Aircraft for sale by Atlas Aviation Sales & Leasing LLC (Florida), see : http://www.atlasaviations.com/2012_747-800_NEW.php
