Ex Transaero on the move again! N894BA due to go VCV in 2 hours. They don't typically go to VCV for storage these days so has a customer been found and it's going for a paint job?

They don't store planes at Lackland. They did some work on them at Boeing's facility there. There is still no customer for these 2 frames from what I was told today.

Garuda will become an ex-747 operator from Arpil and EVA will stop operating the passenger ones from August.

Orient Thai have stored all their 747 fleet as well and may not fly them again.

Boeing is producing 747-8’s at a rate of 0,5 per month, conseq. all positions are not occupied and sometime used for other purposes.

FAL: slant position #1 has a 767 in it; position #2 has LN 1537, and position #3 has LN 1541.
L/N 1537 is due to move to the flight line on 1 March, and L/N 1538 will take its place in position #2.
L/N 1538 is due to move to the field on 13 March, and then L/N 1541 moves from position #3 to #2. Position #3 remains vacant.

They delayed for their flight plan for a bit, got their clearances, tugged it out started engines and sat for a bit before shutting down. Didn't hear what happened, but it wasn't cancelled because of weather.
