The new Boeing order update shows a cancelation for 2 747-8s, that must be the NCA orders.

http://www.boeing.com/commercial/#/orders-deliveries

This makes it more interesting to see who cancelled 1 last week. We will know next week when Boeing publishes the March totals.

Iran Air Cargo seem to have ended 747 ops, they had a single 200F, historically had one other or maybe two.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Provisional 747-8 Aircraft Production List (April 01 - 2017)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Updates from previous listing (March 01 - 2017) :

- Firing Order sequence change : L/N 1542 not allocated anymore
- Added to Firing order : NIL
- Emerged from Final Assembly Line : NIL
- First (B1) Flight : L/N 1540-RC606, L/N 1537-RC058
- Delivered : NIL
- Ferried into storage : NIL
- Ferried out of storage : NIL

Firstly, Boeing (like on the other types) is still using internally the full customer code beyond L/N 1533 where it was understood that was the point they had stopped.
Both scheduled March deliveries (L/N 1533 and 1540) seem to be postponed to April.
On the latest 747-8 production info received (end of February) the following changes are made :
- L/N 1535 is listed as an 83QF as of Feb, Operator identification code TBC (the Boeing Company)
- L/N 1536 is listed as an 83QF as of Feb, Operator Identification code ABM (AirBridgeCargo).
- L/N 1540 is also listed as an 83QF, Operator Identification Code ABM. serial number 63695, not 63659.
- L/N 1541 is also listed as an 83QF, Operator Identification Code ABM. serial number 63781 confirmed.
- L/N 1542 is not listed as a 747-8F type (!) Reallocated to ???
- L/N 1543 84AF RC531 N605UP, serial number 64252, customer and operator UPS.
- L/N 1544 84AF RC532 N606UP, serial number 64253, customer and operator UPS.

All these changes are in line with present reports about the increase in Boeing supplied leases of more 747-8F aircraft. The relevant aircraft are indicated with the customercode -3Q.

See : http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...rgo-not-people
And : http://leehamnews.com/2017/03/29/boe...medium=twitter

On the heels of NCA finally cancelling their last two frames, BOC Aviation has firmed an order for two frames as well.

http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/n...a-leasing.html

There is a Cargo Facts article linked to within that article which talks about the ABC MoU orders overall. They state that the next two frames to be delivered to ABC are the Intrepid Aviation leases. It is unclear if these are also the two ABC undelivered firm orders. If they are not, then they will likely be firmed up as delivered, like other leased frames have been done.

Beyond those, the BOC frames are recently firmed, so will be added to the backlog at some point as well.

Depending on if the 2 ABC frames are the Intrepid leases, that would have ABC at 9 or 11 of their 20 frame MoU.

It's not a new order as BOC has purchased these 2 747-8s from Boeing Capitol. These 2 frames were already delivered to ABC, it's just a transfer of leases.

Agreed. Earlier today I had actually noted that upon further examination of the BOC Aviation filing from the other day, they specify that they were dealing with a Boeing Subsidiary, Boeing Capital in this case, and that the agreement was specifically NOT for new frames, which pointed most likely to the transfer of leases.

It simply seems that the reporting, both in the bizjournal article and the supporting Cargo Facts article, was a bit muddled and confused. Several of their statements could be interpreted a couple of ways, and that likely caused the confusion, even within their own report.

Overall, I guess it means that Volga will still need to take 13 frames if they decide to take all 20 of their MoU.

Cheers,

Peter,

I was inside Boeing today and LN1542 is in the final wing body join area with 1543 in position 4.

1542 is now allocated to UPS. ABC Cancelled that frame and it was taken up by UPS. It will be the first to roll out and 2nd delivered.

They are taking 1543 first, as it's configured from the ground for UPS.

Also it was confirmed 1437 is indeed a UPS frame.

My Source informed me that they are doing mods to bring it into alignment with FAA specs in regards to fire suppression systems for Cargo were as ABC 747's don't meet those requirements.

Three for Korean Air (some of which have or are beign assembled and waiting delivery), and then I suppose the two that will replace the Air force One.

Abou the Air force One matter, I sometimes wonder if it would be even remotely fleasible to use the two unsold Transaero airframes or if the cost of stripping them of standard systems would be so prohibitive that building them from the ground up would be better. But I have not enough knowledge on this matter to get an answer myself.

Correct - there are no more orders for the 747-8i. All 3 of Korean Air's remaining 748's are assembled and on the flight line.

Only 747-8F's are left to assemble, unless someone orders the -8i.

As for AF1, it's not official yet and once officially ordered will be the last 748's to roll off the line.
