[QUOTE=ACAPSreader;141292775]Here's a summary of the current open orders and backlog (this is my supplement to the far more thorough reporting of our own 747classic).[B]

A very useful analysis, thanks. But no mention of l/n 1539 HL7644, KAL's last B748i? Or perhaps it's been delivered in the last few days, and I've missed it?

The Qatar order has also not been confirmed by Boeing for now, so it's not yet firmed up.

Yeah, I should have noted that, but I counted it as done. If it's got engines and paint and is doing test flights (and the airline it's going to is still up and running), then in my book it doesn't count as part of the backlog.

Quote:
Correction to your list LN1437 was not taken by UPS, they rejected it. It is currently not assigned to any customer as is LN1535.

Both 1437 & 1535 are listed as Unsold on Boeing books.
Thanks for catching that! I could've sworn that UPS was taking it. Interesting. As for 1535, isn't that supposed to be for Atlas?

Rumored to be going to Atlas, but listed as TBC on Boeing paperwork which means Boeing owns it.

Crew rest facilities, space for supernumerary personnel, a retractable stair to the main cargo deck, and escape equipment.

L/N 1535, N1785B landing at Paine Field after a functional check flight ( to/from Moses Lake).
The future operator remains uncertain : Probably (Leased to) Atlas Air, but also AirBridgeCargo could be a possibility (as a replacement for L/N 1542 relocated to UPS) ?

N1785B, KPAE, July 26 2017

Original uploaded by Jennifer Schuld, see : http://twitter.com/JenSchuld/status/890328329097588736

Aircraft data : L/N 1535 - 747-8(3Q)F, RC651, serial number 63199, The Boeing Company, test registration N1785B, KPAE, white livery, roll-out without engines at June 14 2016, second roll-out October 25 2016 after engine installation, F/F January 10 2017. Ferried to Victorville for paint at January 26 2017. Returned in white livery at Feb 17 2017. Will most probably be leased to Atlas Air with registration N860GT

rumor report:

The USAF is now rumored to buy the 2 NTU Transaero frames as the AF1 replacement.

"Trump Wanted a Cheaper Air Force One. So the USAF Is Buying a Bankrupt Russian Firm’s Undelivered 747s"

http://www.defenseone.com/business/2...=DefenseOneTCO

The deal could already be announced this week.

Quoting Momo1435
"rumor report:

It is a very intriguing possibility, however; from past history, the U.S. military (AFAIK) does not purchase second hand aircraft, especially for VIP transports. This being a replacement for the presidential plane, would find that unlikely. Even if Trump wants to make such a deal, it has to be approved by the Air Force and maybe the Department of Defense.
Stay tuned.

To be exact, these are not 2nd hand aircraft. They have never been delivered to any airline, only flown on test flights or ferry flights to storage.

You are right about that. They are brand new. They are built to Transaero's specifications. If they are purchased for AF1 replacement, there would be a lot of modifications done. I wonder how much savings would there be to modify these existing airframes as opposed to just buying new ones.
