They installed the interior last week and are actively working on it.

I just only wish LH can get even more B747-8s soon, especially that it will have 21 of them in its fleet, so that it can quickly replace its remaining (and aging) fleet of B744s...

And speaking of the 748, how many production slots are open at the moment if any airline is willing to order one, and how long is the waiting period from ordering to delivery?

Lufthansa already used their 747-8 option to order the 777X, there's not going to order more 747-8s.

And there are already enough open spots last year judging from the number of 747-8s which rolled out in 2014 that have yet to be delivered (5 to be exact). Any airline can place an order and will probably take about a year to take delivery of a 747-8I. for Lufthansa it will be a bit shorter as they are flying the plane. Boeing could deliver faster, but not to airline specific demands when it comes interiors etc. A 747-8F can be delivered faster as it's interior is much more standard of course.

But airlines had the choice to buy the 747-8I on short notice for years now, and only a couple have ordered the plane. That's not going to change, it's probably going to be harder for Boeing to sell the plane with the low fuel costs and the reduced price of the 777-300ER. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see any more orders for the 747-8I other then the AF1 replacements.

Transaero's first 747-8i is getting closer to rolling out of the factory. Per a source the rudder is installed and painted in their new livery (like the 737 below). My source also indicated the build banner on the plane does indicate that it is going to Transaero, but we've seen that before and we will see what happens when it get's painted.

So what are the airlines who have already confirmed their Boeing 747-8i orders other than Lufthansa, Korean Air, and Air China?

777x series is really the A380 / 747 killer.

and the 747 might have life based on the 747-8F and shipping cargo.
