Yeah! I have to fly in a 747-400 from CDG to ATL in August. I have never ridden in the nose of this plane before. Air France 688 seat 4L. I find it odd that the upper deck is economy...

If I'm not mistaken this was originally destined for Qantas Freight. It's a shame the deal didn't go ahead.

If they will want nearly new 747-400F(ER), then there are still 3 former Jade Cargo's frames stored in Shenzen and Shanghai

LN1387: http://www.planespotters.net/Product...eing/747/35173,
LN1391: http://www.planespotters.net/Product...eing/747/35169,
LN1398: http://www.planespotters.net/Product...eing/747/35174,

and 2 ex China Southern Cargo frames:
LN1306: http://www.planespotters.net/Product...n-Airlines.php
LN1312: http://www.planespotters.net/Product...n-Airlines.php

and a lot of older frames, both 747-400Fs and 747-400BCFs

Additionally, 3 new 747-8Fs with 2 more white tails to be rolled out soon.

I'm in business class, which I found unusual to include the nose section of the 747 on Air France. Most of the other airlines I have flown have a first class in the nose, business class behind and upstairs.

What other airlines have different seating configurations? Pictures would make it interesting.

LN1509 RC052 2nd 747-8I for Korean Airlines was moved back to 40-22 building (747 FAL). Probably for interior furnishing and engines installation.

Also LN1520 RC673 3rd Asiana NTU 747-8F was rolled out from FAL.

It was pouring rain, so I didn't grab pictures of them moving them last night.

Considering it first flew in the 1960s, it probably should be. However, as I said previously, Boeing should probably do a replacement, the same form factor with up to the minute technology.

Well, the 747-8 is, by most measures, a pretty new variant. The addition of some FBW, a new super-critical wing, integration of composites, new and larger windows, and of course the brand new engines.

I have an Idea Boeing can make a Double Decker like the A380 But with much powerful Engines not 4 but only 2 Engines that are fuel efficient as well. something like this

patel2897 boy,

1. Stop writing every post in bold, it does not make them more "important" (or sometimes less dumb for that matter)
2. I have an idea - don't have any more such ridiculous ideas about unrealizable aircraft.

Boeing booked 1 order for a 747-8F by an unidentified customer last week.

I wonder if this is one of the white tails.

Earlier this year, when Cargolux took delivery of their 12th -8F and 30th 747 overall, their CEO did talk about wanting to order more frames. Specifically, he said they were already in talks with Boeing for their next order of 5.

I think Saudia is definitely a possibility. I would also think Air Bridge Cargo as a possibility. They said earlier this year that they were definitely going to order 1 frame, and possibly up it to 2. They did a similar thing last year with ordering a singleton.
