I can see why some people don't like it. When I first see it, I was a bit turned off then after few visits to University District and it grew on me. Now I like it because it is so different than I used to, helping this part of University District to look better than before, and it remind me a bit of modern eastern Europe. Landscaping is also helping these new dorm buildings looking better. I hope they will install a several public artworks around them too.

Why did they have to go with white for the window trim though? It's so jarring.

I like it because it breaks up the dark. It's very clean in my opinion.

This is the third of four new dorms near Campus Parkway. This is on the north side of the parkway.

I really enjoy the design of the new dorms - very Scandinavian (I especially love the dark brick/white windows mix). I do hope though that the next cycle buildings will introduce something else than gray.

Sorry but really dislike the dorm design. I mean it doesn't look inviting at all, very prisonish. Then again I guess its a step up from terry lander or mercer

Maybe that was alittle strong but I guess the color tone is too dark for me.

Yah it's certainly a really industrial color selection but I really like it. Reminds me of some of my favorite buildings in Chelsea, NYC.

These are great dorms. Note I didn't say apartments or condos. There's a difference. These are dorms and in fact they look more urban and sophisticated than that apartment building on 12th and 47th which shares a style with many apartment buildings in Seattle.

Meanwhile, yet another huge dorm, Mercer Hall -- which comprises five separate buildings with a common parking garage -- has just started construction adjacent to, and east of the University Bridge. |

That one gives me a bad feeling, like the Combine Citadel:
