LED message boards which can display static or scrolling text/symbols are standard on patrol & Highway/Traffic police cars in Australia.

Though being a smaller city we really don't have that much traffic "In Town" -most of the traffic being on the highway that cuts along the edge of town. That is where the white car comes in for regular patroling. In the State of Arkansas I would have to say that 80% of the Police Cars (State Police, Highway Police, County & Local) have a white color base so drivers naturally slow down when they see a white car coming at them or parked next to the highway even if it doesn't have any visable lights or markings. Just force of habit. The "Stealth" scheme comes in handy more for the Criminal end where you want the cars to be a little harder to spot plus can also be used for traffic when need be. <S>! |
