I guess it is not the largest in E.A because the recently opened Quality Plaza mall in Dar is about 60, 000 square Meters which is roughly around 646,000 square Feet. The parking space can accommodate 500 cars, you can check it out in the link below:

Do you have any idea about the leased space area? Or is that value the total built up area? Sorry for derailing this thread further. Maybe we should start a safari lounge section for new retail developments in East Africa.

Looks like this mall already has some competition lined up.

There's another proposed mall in the same area. The Oyster Mall, 200,000 sq ft. Its part of another housing development project called the Oyster Village, next to the Greenspan estate.

Donholm is changing fast!

I tried running a search on that 3000 unit project and didn't come up with any results. That project would have to be the scale of Buru Buru or Nyayo Embakasi estates. I guess we will have to wait for them to officially launch the project before more details emerge. That will be one huge project.

The Mall is not complete but tenants have occupied some shops. Most notable: Tuskys and Bata. I was nearby today and managed to dash there for a few shots. Here you go:

1. Side entrance (it has two entrances but the main one is still under construction).

2. Part of the compound as you enter from the side

3. Tuskys section.

4. Greenspan Estate Ph 4 is under construction and can be seen in the background.

Just noticing the small sign (Tusky's laundry)...never knew they run a laundromat. Or is it a drycleaning service?

Depends on which estates, Doonholm, Buruburu, will definitely be rejuvenated. I am less optimistic about estates like Umoja,Komarock, Kayole, Innercore etc etc.

I think Komarock might come out well, there are some developments going on there. The regions along the Eastern bypass will also experience a construction boom

How large is the Mega city mall in Kisumu? I bet its the largest in Kenya. So far I know the Sarit centre has some 500000 sq. ft
